Pocket watch – more detail
Added some more detail. Progess is slow but that is also because I want to incorperate a lot of detail. I also don’t have a lot of experience with “mechanical” modeling.

Lars with some clothes
My first try at modeling (any model for that matter) some clothes for my lars model. It isn’t perfect and may need to redo some stuff, but overall I’m happy with my progress.

Guitar
Model is certainly not perfect but it was a test to try out the new bsurfaces plugin I bought. Also have a second machine available (i5-2300 as a companion for my i7-860) this was also a test for using luxrender over a network. They both really rock !!

Beasty – Camera tracking experiment
My first camera tracker experience ^^ There is some sliding noticeable but all by all I’m happy with the result.
Some more refinements
To be honest I’m getting out of titles for these posts
Did some minor tweaks but I am still not happy about the feet. From the side they seem natural, but from the front they look weird to me. Then again sometimes I go overboard with my perfectionism.

Lars – look ma new hands !
I was very busy the past couple of weeks so I didn’t had much time to model. Fortunately that is over and I did some minor tweaks

Lars – little improvements
I have a lot going on these days unfortunately, so I couldn’t work on my model as much as I wanted. I am battling with the feet to be perfectly honest. May change it in the future. Lars is a leopard so I was thinking “catlike” feet, but I am not really sure about it.

Lars – head
This is a small test but I am not 100% satisfied with the shape of the head. But overall it has a nice feel to it. He seems a bit naughty, which I like

Next generation Lars
Originally lars is a 2d character drawed in illustrator, but now I want to create a fresh 3D version. I also wanted to make a different kind of “screenshot” :p

Froggy
Painting in 3D Coat really rocks ! Because some requested it, I also made a wallpaper.

Passenger car – some tinkering
Did some minor tweaks and modeled a basic track. Learned a lot in the process !
May texture it in the future, but for now I want to focus on other things.

Train wheels / passenger car
Started with modeling some wagon wheels. As you can see it is not a 100% reproduction but that wasn’t really my goal for this exercise. I may end up modeling a whole car
Update: couldn’t help myself. Started modeling a passenger car

The green green grass
Tweaked some of the materials and added some grass. I must say that the Hybrid CPU+GPU mode in Luxrender 0.8 RC2 really rocks !

Windows (and a door) for my building
As a project it can be quite tedious sometimes but that is mostly because I don’t have much experience with modeling such things and I still need to grasp the shortcuts available within Blender. I added some windows (a lot of windows), a door and some ornaments.

A building
For the past couple of months I focussed mostly on organic models, but now I also want to focus on learning modeling other things. There is still a lot do even with the many hours I already invested in this model. It is mostly a learning experience

Suspicious man – textured
Textured the head of my “The man” model. I’m still lack the experience with regards of texturing but I’m getting there. I also modelled the eyes in different parts to make them more realistic. He also doesn’t look suspicious any more

Mister Cow
When I woke up this morning I had this cow figure in my head
There is still a lot of work left and I need to play a little with the proportions. Started a sketch in sculptris and imported it into 3D-coat.
Update: added some (rough) feet and udder details

Chickie
I presume that my mind is already in “easter mode”
It is also an experiment of still finding a good workflow between 3d-coat, Sculptris and Blender.
Kinect MoCap attempt
I bought a kinect camera today as I could pick one up relatively cheap. The reason was that I could play a little with Brekel which makes basic motion capturing possible. Although the system cannot replace (expensive) professional mocap hw, it seems very promising in its current stage.
Also note that I don’t have any experience with mocap (this is my first real test) so there is a lot of room for user error. I also didn’t clean-up or prepare the BVH data before importing it into Blender.

Piggy (improved)
There was (and there still is) a lot of room for improving my piggy test. Also added a couple of stances like happy, neutral and scared.
- Sculpted in sculptris
- Morph shapes created in Blender
- Animated and rendered in Messiah:Studio Pro

The beast
I’m getting more fluent with sculpting it seems. This is also one of my more complex models texturing wise. The realism is really sitting in the details I’ve learned.

The wizard
I’m particullary happy with the eyes. At first I used a rectangle light source but a friend of my suggested that I should pick a round (softer) light source. She was 100% correct.

3D scanner experiment
A bit further with my “3d scanner”. Still a lot of tweaking to do :p The results aren’t perfect but it is recognizable which is a start :p Especially if you know this extremely low budget :p

Fantasy figure textured
I can’t take all the credit as a good friend of my helped me improving my texturing skills and gave me some pointers. From that day she had a lot of positive influence in my work and even today – when we don’t have any contact – I still try incorporate the remarks that she made.

A bug’s hair
When Sculptris first came out a whole new world opened up for me. Where in the past I had troubles with organic modelling, the intuitive workflow (which you can compare with sculpting) made that a thing of the past. A bug’s hair is one of my first organic models.
